On May 18th, 250 chefs from around the world, all specialists in traditional Neapolitan pizza, joined forces to beat the Guinness World Record for the longest pizza. The result ? A huge pizza measuring 1858 meters long!

The Guinness World Records has confirmed that the pizza is the longest ever made in the world. 100 chefs, 11 hours and five portable wood ovens were what it took to make this pizza. To create this culinary masterpiece, the chefs used two tons of flour, two tons of mozzarella, 1600 kg of tomatoes, 200 liters of olive oil, and 30 kg of basil.

Once the pizza was cooked and the record was officially recognized, it was shared among the cooks, the people, and local homeless shelters. It was organised to promote Italy's bid to have the art of Neapolitan pizza-making recognised by UNESCO as part of the world's heritage
